It’s no secret that New York City has always been a melting pot of culture. The catalysts for this mixing and mingling of different cultures in city neighborhoods can be found on any block. They come in the form of corner stores or ‘bodegas’. The concept of these small convenience stores originated in hispanic communities. As these communities migrated north to New York, so did this particular piece of their heritage. To this day, bodegas are renowned for carrying small convenience items, snacks, and can even double as delis.
St. Louis is a city with big attractions, but there are areas where it lacks these widespread cultural staples that bring communities together. BeauxDega aims to bring that very essence of community to the streets of St. Louis City. Though it won’t be a chain, it will still aim to bring different cultures together.
